Current Project: Heel Charger - an easily integrated footstep energy harvester of levered multilayer piezoelectric patches, which also acts as a mechanical switch for synchronized switching on inductor circuit. It tactfully switches on as foot press ground and switches off when lift up. The design takes fully advantage of users’ weight and gains maximum deformation of patches with structure of lever, pivot, and short beams.
Next, we’ll try to put heel charger into wearable and biomedical applications. For example, detect foot or knee disease.

Yehonathan Litman
Hey! I'm Yehonathan, though you can call me by whatever you can pronounce, and I am an undergraduate student majoring in electrical engineering, hailing all the way from Nassau county (think Great Gatsby). I joined NES at the end of 2016, two weeks after I entered college. Despite having different interests from the rest of lab, I was surprised of how helpful my mates have been in their suggestions and their expertise, and now I am able to give back to my lab by helping out with tasks involving Linux and computer vision.
Current research:
Monocular visual-inertial state optimization on UAVs
Distributed optimization for control dynamics
